The #1 priority of the SoCal RC Rally Runners is for everyone to have a great time Rally Racing! With that in mind, we’ve created a list of rules that allow everyone a chance to race in any class they want on equal terms - all vehicles (except the Open class) have been Spec'd closely to make the cars as equal as possible - it's all up to the driver and their ability to navigate the course.

Below is a common list of the rules for each class with individual Class rules detailed below:

Point to Point Scale Rally Stage Rules
All vehicles must have the appearance of a rally vehicle, the more realistic the better.
2S LiPo battery maximum.
If possible, cars must be driven unassisted from the Parc Expose, through the arch and up to the starting line of each stage. This rule may not apply for every event due to the setup of the course in relation to the Parc Expose, Arch and starting line.
You must marshal your own car during each stage. Outside interference will result in a 5 second time penalty per instance.
Cars must be driven under their own power through the entire stage and across the finish line. Your car can be turned back on its wheels by hand if it has flipped over. Cars direction may be corrected by hand if caught on a course marker, in deep dirt or there is a malfunction or breakage (if parts such as steering components break, etc.) during your stage, as long as the car is driven under the power of its motor through the entire stage and across the finish line.
If a car breaks while on the course, you can retire with a DNF or attempt to make repairs if they can be done within 5 minutes. Your repaired car must be driven across the finish line under its own power to complete the stage.
The car, including chassis and body used at registration, must be used in all stages of a particular event. lf a car breaks and cannot be repaired, a backup car can be used but any runs with the backup car cannot be tallied with runs of the car that was initially registered. All times will be tallied with the car that ran them and final results cannot be averaged with multiple cars by one driver in one class.
Tires can be changed or altered in between stages. Tires and wheels must be similar in appearance to real 1:1 scale rally vehicles. For tarmac courses, no slick tires or dish style wheels allowed.
No cutting sections of a stage allowed. Infractions will incur a 10 second time penalty per instance for obvious cutting of any section(s) of a stage(s).
